5 ways to style a vest

Who is ready for falllll?  Me! Me!  I just noticed this week it's getting darker a little earlier and I am ready for some cooler temps.  I love, love, love vests for fall and winter and found some really cute ways to wear them.
So far, I am just a puffer/quilted vest owner but am loving some of these looks.

Favorite Summer Scarves

It's really hot out but I am still sneaking in a scarves.  I love the layered look and I feel like they can dress up a plain t-shirt or sleeveless dress.  Here are a few of my current faves.

I bought this American flag style scarf last year on Etsy and have been getting lots of wear from it.  I wore it on Memorial Day, each of the recent World Cup games and of course, plan to this weekend.  It is so soft and light, perfect for warmer temps.

I ran into Old Navy for my sister to grab some swimsuits for the kids and came out with a scarf for me.  It's infinity style (my fave) and has cute tassels.  Super lightweight and great for summer.

Ahhh....the soft touch of silk.
This JCrew snood is so fun.  The tassels give it a cute look for all seasons.

The most recent addition to my scarf collection is this cutie with pink flamingos.  I cannot remember where I got this but found lots of adorable options here.

What are your go-to summer looks?  Hope you are off to a super week!

Purse d-o-w-n-s-i-z-e-d

Aaaahhhh....can you feel my relief?  I have been lugging around a waaaayyy oversized bag for years. I have some small crossbody bags I love for nights and weekends and have long been searching for a smaller everyday bag.
I didn't find the perfect bag, but it's good for now.  I had lunch with a co-worker and she talked me into swinging by Saks Off Fifth to make a quick return.  While she was at the register, I scanned all the bags and grabbed this Rebecca Minkoff crossbody. It's dual-purpose and be a shoulder bag by doubling up on the straps.
It's surprisingly spacious inside, holding my full size wallet, cosmetics bag and car keys.  I am way too busy to switch bags daily so I got a neutral to carry each day.
See what you think..... (the chain strap is my fave)

Suiting up for Spring

I hate to admit this but I am loving these cooler temps.  I live in Central Florida and it just doesn't get cold here.  I love scarves and layers and this weather is perfect for it.
However, I have no doubt that wearing a dress REQUIRES some bronzing lotion.  These legs are pale.  So, for that part, I am ready for Spring.

I am seeing the cutest suits this season and am loving the tops with extra detail.  I haven't tried a new swimsuit like this before but am feeling brave (browsing online anyways) and am feeling the urge to spruce up my swim style.

Hope you are off to a great week.  I am feeling so good after taking off a couple days last week.  I am excited to get through these next couple days and relax this weekend.

Packing for Boone

We are off to Boone today!  The high is 5 degrees....brrrrrr.  Last night I got all packed up.

My MIL works for VF Corporation which happens to own a lot of brands I am fond of, North Face, Reef, Nautica, Lucky and a few more.  She is so sweet and hooks us up with all the good stuff.  Most of my cold weather gear is North Face since I get it as a gift but I also have a few other favorites.  Burton makes great snowboarding gear.  I have a jacket and pants to keep me warm and dry.

I also recently bought the Sorel boots.  This will be my first trip wearing them.  My husband was extra sweet and got us lots of boot and glove warmers.  I have a couple neck warmers I got on sale from Gap that I will be adding to the mix this year too.  It's just me and two six year-olds, a 10 and 14 year old.  We fly out this afternoon and get back Sunday night.
