Recipe: Taco Dip (without the meat)

Okie dokie friends, we have a winner here!  I made this over the weekend and it was gone in no time. It's a no-bake recipe, although I think it would be delicious either hot or cold.
I served with tortilla chips.

Recipe:
1 block cream cheese
8 oz sour cream (small container)
1 Taco seasoning packet
1 jar 16 oz salsa
2 tomatoes, diced
2 cups lettuce shreds
1-2 cups of cheese

Mix cream cheese, sour cream, salsa, and taco seasoning together in electric mixer.
Pour into small casserole size dish
Top with shreds, tomatoes, and cheese
Serve

Favorite New Mascara

New product alert!  I tried a new mascara and love it.  I was in Sephora getting a couple refills and happen to notice this.  The lady working said she loved it and so if she loves it, you gotta try it, right?!  There is a short video here on how to use it (there are two sides of the brush to use) and it really does an amazing job.  Go.Get.It.

For days I am really in the mood for some dramatic eyes and have an extra minute, I have this little drugstore find to share.  I don't use the black side of it but I use the primer for some extra pop.  I got this at CVS after my sister gave me the scoop on how amazing it is pre-mascara.  Enjoy, my lovelies!

#PrayersForLloyd

I am Debbie Downer today.  A long time friend of mine went out fishing near Cocoa Beach Sunday and didn't return.  His boat was found washed up on shore.  His cell phone, wallet, and even fishing poles with bait on them were all on the boat.  He is a commercial fisherman and was out for a little Sunday leisure fishing and something obviously went terribly wrong and quickly.  His keys were still in the boat and were in the ON position when they found it washed up on the beach.

Our local friends rallied Monday and Tuesday for an all out search, combined with the Coast Guard and local efforts.  Late last night, they called off the search.  I am so sad for the family.  He has a brother and sister and all three of us played soccer together over the years and went to school together.  The family hasn't given up hope yet but certainly have dwindled in optimism.  Some things just don't make sense and this is one of those things.  Hug your loved ones! xoxo

Valentine's Weekend

Hey friends!  Hope y'all had a super weekend.  Simon and I were fighting off colds last week and I finally waived the white flag Friday afternoon.  I was on the road Wednesday and Thursday out of town, feeling a little worse everyday and finally hit the doctor Friday.

My regular doctor couldn't see me until the end of this week and three different urgent care offices near my work had several hours wait time.  I found a Walgreens with a Health Clinic in it not too far away and luckily, they took me right in.  I knew it was just a sinus infection but have a tendency to wait until I am all but bed-ridden to get to the doctor.  So, my weekend started with three prescriptions and lots of self pity.  :)

My husband was sure picking up our twin nieces would be a little pick-me-up so he surprised me by grabbing my little loves and bringing them over to be our nurses.  They ended up staying until Sunday when we went to watch their sister Payton play in a soccer tournament.  We both got the sweetest homemade cards and some get well hugs.
Not the most romantic of weekends but full of love, nonetheless.  I am finally feeling a little better, thank goodness because I am on the road two more days this week.

Happy Mardi Gras Y'all!

Happy Mardi Gras, friends!  I am back from a weekend trip to Pensacola.  It's not quite the real deal but it's close.  The company I work with has a float in the parade and we make it up there as often as possible to partake in the fun.  The local news reported there were nearly 100 floats and more than 100,000 people on the parade route.  Here are some memories from the weekend.
Hope you're off to a great week!
