Weekend on the field

This weekend flew by.  Friday night after work I picked up my little twin nieces for a little sleepover. They are six going on 16.  We laugh the entire time they are with us.  They hit me up for some Starbucks when I picked them up and we went to dinner Friday night at Port Canaveral.

My soccer team was in another tournament and we spent all day Saturday and Sunday at the fields.  I am wind burned and sun burned.  My girls went undefeated into the championship game on Sunday and had a heartbreaking loss.  The other team scored with less than three minutes to play.

We finished second in the tournament but the girls were devastated.  They cried and cried after the game.  It is so tough to see them that upset.  These tournaments are good for their development and they did so great but to lose it all in the last couple minute stings for sure.  They did the international style walk-out for the final game and the girls loved it.  It was so neat to see them all grown up.

We had some friends over for the game Sunday night and I barely made it through the night to see the game.
I have been in the mood for some new cosmetics and may hit up the mall on a lunch break this week. I don't have much from MAC but there happens to be a store at the mall by my work that I may hit up.  Stay tuned.
Have a super week!

Photo Book Season

It's hard to believe the end of the year is almost here.  It's also the official start of photo book season.
A friend introduced them to me years ago and they really are hard to beat.  My family has come to expect a book annually and I have made every effort to capture vacations too.

I was starting to work on my family book and realized that I had enough from our most recent soccer season to do a little something special for the kiddos.  I left the last page blank so they could do autographs for each other.  Shutterfly happened to be having a great sale so I ordered them right away.  If you have yet to start documenting memories in this fun way, now is a great time to try!

Take a peek at mine and see what you think.

Photo books are the perfect gift for any occasion.

Weekend Rewind

Hope you enjoyed the last couple days off.  We had an action-packed 48 hours.

Friday night, we went to my sister Holly's house to celebrate a birthday.  Our little niece, Karmie turned five.  We had a dinner-time pool party, of course filled with music and dancing.  My nieces love to dance and it is so funny to watch them.

Payton and one of her friends/soccer teammates stayed the night and we all rode to soccer together on Saturday for Payton's first ever tournament.  Uncle Simon is a savior when the kids come over.  He prepared breakfast for the little athletes and helped me get everything together for the day.

And, we're off!  We headed to the fields at 9:00 am for the first of three games, over the next 24-hours.  We listened to the girls' favorite songs all the way down to get them fired up (and help forget about jitters).  It was soooo hot.  My forehead is burned and I now have arm and ankle tan lines.  The girls did great for their first showing and by Sunday afternoon, I was exhausted.  We went through six gallons of Gatorade (plus their own waters), two bags of apples, lots of bananas, star fruit and anything else we could to keep their energy up as much as we could.

In between our games Saturday and Sunday, Payton and I also raced.  I don't know how she does as much as she does, she is a tough little chic.  We had a great night of racing.  Payton and I both won and my dad was second.  My twin nieces, Logan and Taylor also ran.  They are so cute to watch their tiny little bodies in those karts.

I finally made it back home Sunday afternoon and we had a quiet end to the weekend.  Simon had the games on and I relaxed with the pups.  We are so far, so good with the two boys that were sick last weekend.
Hope you have a super week.  I heard we have a cold front coming, so hopefully we get some cooler temps in the days to come.

Weekend Rewind

Last week was a whirlwind.  Work has been busy and add my wife, auntie, daughter duties to that and the days fly by.  Friday night, Simon and I grabbed a dinner and called it a night early.  Saturday was filled with two soccer games and a night of racing.  I left at 8:00am Saturday and got home just before 10:00pm.

Three of my nieces play soccer together and they are so cute.  I didn't start playing quite as young as they did and it's amazing at the determination they have at just five years old.  It was pouring rain at the start of their game and they played like they didn't even notice.  My Dad and I took shelter in our cars and watched the first half-from the parking lot.
The little kids' game ended and next up was my oldest niece, Payton's game at 11:30.  She is u10 competitive and I am one of her coaches.  We are in our first season of competitive and it's the first time that we are playing to win every game and they keep scores and team rankings.  We won our first game 11-2 and won last weekend's game 4-3.  It was a nail biter with the score being so close.  I was so glad my girls didn't give up and we got the game winning goal in the last quarter.

After two soccer games, we grabbed some lunch and headed to my Dad's house to get ready for a night of racing.  My Dad and I both race and three of my nieces do too.
My youngest little racer, Taylor.  She has my same number.
My mini-me, Payton.  I got so sunburned from being outside all day.  She also happen to run a 5k before her game AND racing.  #supastar

That's a wrap!  Simon and I relaxed on Sunday.  He had a couple friends over to watch the game and I had the race on.  I have another action-packed week ahead.  I am on the road a few days for work and then head to Tuscaloosa for the Florida vs Alabama game with friends.

On the rooaaddd again! :)  Have a super week friends!

Weekend Rewind: Soccer Saturday

Fall soccer is underway.  This is my seventh season coaching and I have had four of the girls since my first season.  We are in our first competitive season (travelling team) and started off the season with a win!  We have been practicing all summer and the girls did great.  We won 11-2.
I especially love it because I too, played soccer as a youngin and still treasure the memories and friendships from those years.  I hope some of these girls get to experience the same thing.
Coin toss

Go Strikers!

They either figured out my iphone code or my niece told them.  I found these on my phone after the game.

We won!  That is Coach James.  We have been playing and coaching together since high school.

Little ladies.
Have a great week!
