Weekend Rewind: Quick trip to Pensacola

Hey friends!  I had a quick trip to Pensacola this weekend for work.  After weather delays on my flight out Friday, I got in town with enough time to visit with some friends before checking into my hotel.  I stayed beachside at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.  I have stayed there a few times before and it is a great spot.  It's really close to dining at the beach and the hotel is super clean.

I stayed on the ocean side and happen to have this amazing view from my balcony.
day,

Saturday evening we watched the games and have our annual Christmas party for work.  The weather was nice and cool and we had a great turnout.  I was a little bummed when I got back home and realized I only got three pictures all night.  Booooo.

Dress: GAP (marked waaayyyy down to less than $50) Necklace: H&M

I am on the road a couple days this week for work but am planning to be home all weekend and am looking forward to getting my Christmas lists organized and start ordering gifts.  Simon grabbed a tree for us so I will be decorating that over the next couple days too.  Hope you all have a super week!

My favorite new dress

I haven't shopped at GAP much recently but I popped in a few weekends ago and found what is my new favorite dress.  Is this cute or what?!
It works great for my shape.  I love a fitted bodice with nipped waist and a-line shaped skirt.  It also just went on sale so it is a steal.  I got the black and white version but it's also available in a peach stripe.
It is a touch shorter than I hoped for so I will keep it as an after-hours choice, maybe even a fun cocktail occasion if I can find a sparkly skinny belt and some accessories.  It also has pockets, which I happen to
L-O-V-E!

I am normally a size six but the online reviews said it ran a little large so I went a size down and it was perfect.  Check it out!

Fit & Flare Dresses and Skirts from GAP

I got the cutest new dress for Christmas.  GAP has two great fitting dresses and both patterns look just as nice.  I got the navy and white combo and will likely go back and grab the skirt.  This dress is just my type, fitted top with a-line style bottom.
The length is a touch short so I will have to wear it on a confident day.  I also considered adding tights and tall boots for cooler temps.  How would you style the red and navy skirt? Chunky knit sweater? Tights & boots?
