Drug store scores when you can't make it to the mall

I typically shop at Sephora but every now and again I run out of items unplanned or find myself wondering down the aisles in search of new items.
The waterproof mascara is my only waterproof kind I have.  I sometimes layer it with my Dior if I know I will be outside and it's either rainy or extra humid.
Essie is one of my fave polishes.  It goes on smooth and dries quickly.
The Sally Hansen Airbrush legs is a must for my lifestyle.  Between soccer, kickball and racing I end up with bruises I need to cover.  I spray it on lightly and then blend with lotion.  Great trick for masking flaws and giving me a little color.

My cosmetic faves

Oooohhhh, one of my favorite topics: cosmetics.  I listed my daily-use faves.  I shop mostly online at Sephora.com and rely on reader reviews when deciding what makes it in my online basket.  These are the cosmetics I am using right now.  Check out my next post for my favorite drug store finds.

A weekend of racing, tasting and relaxing

I love the weekends!  The only thing I wish I could change is adding a day between Saturday and Sunday. :)

Here are a few pictures from my favorite 48-hours of the week.  We squeezed in hanging out Friday night with my sister Jessica, racing on Saturday, dinner on Saturday night at one of my favorite places, Taverna Opa in Orlando and lake time with the fam Sunday.

PF + MK

Did that just happen?  I went to the lake today with my family and left a little early for a haircut.
I still get my hair done in Orlando near where I used to work so when I am over that way, I try to schedule my appointments.
Simon called me while I was getting my hair done and said he was going out with friends for a little while so I decided to grab food to go.  PF Chang's is one of my fave spots so I ordered some take-out.  The sweet server said "Your order will be ready in 15 or 20 minutes.  Want to stroll the mall and come back and grab your food?"  Sure, what a great idea.  Nothing too serious can happen in 15 minutes.
I have had my eye on a couple new bags so I took a quick walk to the Michael Kors store.  Well, in the blink of an eye, I was at the register swiping my card.  Did that just happen?  Yes, in fact it did.  In a record seven minutes from the time I placed my order.
I also scored an extra fortune cookie.  What a great day. :)

Summer Style

August is here and that means summer is almost over.  We had rain 27 out of the last 31 days so I am hoping for a somewhat dry August before we head into fall.  I have been on the go and have been relying on a few pieces to get me through my weekends.
I put together my first collage (thanks for the help Annie) showing some of my favorite pieces.

Elizabeth Porter

Simon got me these earrings at Christmas.  I have been wearing them all summer.  I wear mostly stud-earrings and these are some of my faves.  For sandals, these MKs are great.  They are very comfy and never gave me blisters plus they are cute with dresses, shorts and jeans and have just enough heel to be nicer than flip flops but still great to walk around in.  My watch was another gift from Simon.  I have several of these MK watches.  I love the boyfriend style and favor pieces that are good to wear at work, out and about and weekends.  I have had this bag for a few seasons and finally eyed a new one that I may trade up to.  This bag is really roomy and has been a good buy.

Stripes and basics have been my summer wardrobe.  I ventured out with my first colored denim and picked up these bottoms from Loft.  They hold their shape during the day and are cute full-length or rolled up to a small cuff.  The BR soft long sleeve is perfect for the days I have been on the water all day and I grabbed this cute striped suit while I was out of town and needed one quick. Lastly, another BR piece, I have worn this skirt with every color top from pink to orange to white and it's really cute.

My first collage is complete.  So exciting.  I have found some great summer-to-fall transition pieces and can't wait to create my next board.

Is summer really almost over?

Wow.  August is in two days.  Where has the summer gone?  Seems like Memorial Day just passed and now fall clothes are in stores and the kids are heading back to school in just a few weeks.

My schedule feels as full as ever.  I am playing soccer, kickball, racing, working and coaching soccer starts in a couple of weeks.  I also started a mini-garden and have three pots of tomatoes and some green peppers growing.  I am really enjoying come home each day to water my plants and see if there is anything ready to harvest.  They are growing so quickly, I am amazed.  I have begged Simon to dig me a place in the yard to expand my garden growings but so far, to no avail.  Here is a picture from a couple weeks ago.

So with the blink of an eye, my tomatoes are all grown up and summer is gone.  I plan to really make the most of the next few weeks and soak up the summer sun as much as possible.

Welcome Back

It's been a while since I have been online.  I have been out of town travelling a lot and hadn't taken the time to hop on here.
It is summertime, one of my favorite times of the year.  It has been so rainy here.
We have done the best we can to maintain our family tradition of boating on the weekends but have spent as much time inside my dad's motorhome as we have laying by the water.  Here are a few recent photos.

I am working to plan a mini-vaca with my oldest niece and nephew.  I am also planning my first trip to Ecuador to visit one of my best friends.  In the mix of that, I am racing nearly every weekend and trying to find time to go to Atlanta for a quick trip with my husband.  Before we know it, cooler temps will be here and my tan will have faded away.

Hope you are having a great summer.  :)
