A Taste of Vegas: Slingback Martini

Hey friends.  Last year on a work trip to Vegas we went to Olives for a luncheon.  Aside from an amazing view overlooking the fountains at the Bellagio, the food was quite tasty.

The server recommended a drink and I wondered what was in it for so long after I left.  I don't like the taste of liquor so I tend to lean towards sweet drinks.  This is sweet but in a fruit, refreshing way and not too sugary.  I was just back at this lunch spot last week and snagged the ingredients shown on the menu.

Slingback Martini:
Ruby Red Absolut Vodka
Passion fruit puree
Lime juice
Lemon Sour
Sugar rim

It's still a little chilly out but be sure to save this mix for your next shindig.  You'll love it.

Tory Burch Minnie Flat

O-M-G....finally, some comfy flats!  I have a couple pairs of the Reva flats but they just never got super comfy for me.  They were okay after they were broken in but seemed to stretch out so the back was always sliding down and they were just never 100%.  Enter ---- > Minnie.
I was in Vegas last week for several days and that means tons of walking.  It was also chilly so no open-toed shoes would work.  I strolled into the mall one day for lunch and popped into TB just to browse.  I saw the Minnie but it looked exactly like the Reva so I didn't think much about it until a sweet sales lady came up to tell me how great they were.
She promised they were the most comfortable shoe in the store and she was right.  After just one wear, they are the bomb.  They look like the Reva but are constructed differently.  The leather is so soft.  I usually wear a 7.5 but wore an 8 in the Reva.  The Minnie is true to size so back to 7.5 for me.
The TB logo is the same color as the shoe and as you can see in the pics, the sole is different.

If you are looking for some everyday flats that are truly comfy, grab these bad boys.  I got black but am definitely going to grab more colors soon.  Getcha some! :)

My favorite new shampoo

Hey friends!  I recently tried a new shampoo and LOVE it!
Have you seen the gorg Jennifer Aniston in the promotional ads for Living Proof shampoo?
It's my new BFF.  I have long been with Kerastase but was ready for a change.  I read lots of reviews and they are all true.

I got mine at Sephora but it's sold in lots of stores.  It's $25 for the medium size bottle but I use just a tiny bit compared to what I used to.  It suds up so nicely.  One of the biggest raves is how clean it makes your hair and it's legit.  I have to wash my hair daily and last week I skipped a day and didn't feel the least bit greasy.  I had some product in the day before and that seemed to help it last through day two.  My hair isn't like Dolly Parton volume but it is full and soft.
They have a full line of different products and if they are half as good as the full, give them a shot.
Have a super week!

Family Photos - 2015 in Review

Although taking pictures drives my husband crazy, it's so fun to put them together and remember all the fun moments from the year. Here are some of our favorites from 2015.

Hey 2K16!

Hi friends.  Anyone else still running behind from the holidays?  I feel like I haven't fully caught up from Thanksgiving yet but I am close.  We had a great Christmas and I was gone the entire next week.  Last week was my first "normal" week and I was super busy at work so I am still a touch behind but should be back on track this week.
We hosted our annual Christmas Eve dinner and had a great evening with family.  We get the kids new Christmas jammies to change into after dinner and they get to open a few gifts before heading home to wait on Santa.

The day after Christmas I played in my high school alumni soccer game.  I was the oldest by alot of years but managed to hang in there to play with the youngins.  I even had a small fan section to cheer me on. :)

The next day, my Dad and I left for six straight days of racing.  We raced Daytona which is the biggest race of the year for go-karting and had some days of good luck and some tough luck. I finally got home on January 2nd and have some time off before we are rolling again.

I hope you are off to a great new year.  Talk to you again soon, friends!
